About this event
10:00 am Start Time.
Unfortunately Twisted Pair burned down, and Beaver's Tail in New Prospect is under new ownership and they don't open until 4 P.M. So.......new plan.
Take a scenic tour through the Northern Kettle Moraine Forrest. Route begins in Dundee and follows county roads through the Milwaukee river lowlands, Long lake, Parnell, Beechwood, New Prospect, Mauthe Lake, the Tamarack Wetlands, with a stop at Parnell Tower. Consider bringing your camera and climbing the tower. The top of the 60-foot wooden observation tower is the highest point of elevation in the Kettle Moraine State Forest. It offers a panoramic view of the forest and surrounding farmland. On a clear day, one can see about 25 miles.
Rest stop available at Parnell Tower ( 9 miles ). Parnell Tower Park offers only Restrooms and water, so
pack your own snack and Gator Aid.
Note: New Starting Point.
The ride starts at the "Lake to Lake Bike Trail" parking lot on County Hwy F, 1/2 mile east of Dundee. There are no toilets or water here, so plan accordingly, or use the Exxon gas station in Dundee.Lake to Lake Bike Trail Parking Area / Dundee
There are 3 choices for the lunch / after ride social in Dundee. The Hamburger Haus. (Outdoor dining only). Camp Dundee Bar & Grill, or Dundee's Road House. There is limited parking at all, so consider stopping to eat first, before riding your bike back to your car. Perhaps a concensus before the ride to decide which to choose for lunch?
Ride Leaders: Mike and Mary Biskobing.
